The Rat Race
It's been a busy month of sketching and painting, so this illustration for Yoga Journal seems very fitting as we all seem to rush to finalize the things we hope to achieve before the year is out.

From home to hotel
This month I was asked to create a new illustration for United's Mileage Plus hotel and car awards. It's great to be producing new work for them again.

Hidden Grief
Another very rewarding assignment this month was a feature illustration for Glow magazine. An article about the loss of pregnancy and how many women feel utterly alone in their grief after a miscarriage.

Your child according to the stars
Now here are a few of the illustrations I have done recently for a monthly horoscope column for Parents magazine, France.

Ah, Paris
The big news for me this month is that I've returned to live in Paris after several years living in New Zealand.
Major changes for me and my family as we all adjust to our new life....from a big house to a small apartment, freezing winter to sweltering summer, Wellington to Belleville. We're thrilled with it all!

Paris Poster Blitz
It seems I couldn't have timed my arrival to Paris better as it coincides with the launch of the summer campaign for SeaFrance.
Imagine my surprise when I walked down to my local metro station and was greeted by the posters everywhere which I'd painted just a few weeks prior in New Zealand!

Hula Time for Birkenstock
Earlier this year I was approached to give my spin on a retro-style Hawaiian fabric print for Birkenstock USA.
A sweet idea for their campaign showing two Hula girls peering out from a skirt to the latest Birkenstocks.

Coffee, Chocolate. How to choose?
The "Javalicious" cards have arrived!
Following my "Chocolicious" series created with Galison, we now have a coffee themed "sister" range.
Each card comes with a tempting recipe. Must get round to trying them soon,
although lately I've been spending all my spare time sorting through my archives (read below).

From the archives
I'm finally making sense of the mountains of my artwork stashed haphazardly around the studio. It's quite a revealing process, seeing what worked and what didn't over the years.
One of the nicest "forgotten" finds was this series of ads commissioned by the Helsinki newspaper "Helsingin Sanomat" for a summer advertising campaign many a year ago!

Student Travel
ACIS (American Council for International Studies) commissioned me to illustrate their 2010 student travel catalogue.
Kor Design (Boston) designed and co-ordinated the project, making the entire process seamless from conception to creation!

A collaboration!
At the moment I'm very excited about a new collaboration with San Francisco based photographer Claudia Goetzelmann.
The project is only just starting out, but here's a sneek preview.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
The new year is here and I hope it is a happy one for everybody.
For me it is a time of extreme weather opposites. While I sit sketching on the beach my clients suffer the bitterly cold temperatures of mid winter!
Enjoying the summer has made it easy to find inspiration for my contribution to a Birkenstock ad campaign with a beach theme though. It's due out in Summer 2009 and I'll add a link then.
